According to a company press release, Bausch + Lomb Ultra One Day contact lenses integrate a next-generation contact lens material (kalifilcon A) with Advanced MoistureSeal Technology to have an extremely wettable surface and excellent breathability for safe lens wear.
The Bausch + Lomb Ultra One Day contact lenses with Advanced MoistureSeal and ComfortFeel technologies provide a complete design that includes high oxygen, low modulus, convenient storage, UV blocking, and High Definition Optics to suit the needs of today’s contact lens wearer.
The Advanced MoistureSeal Technology operates in unison with the latest ComfortFeel Technology, which is a game-changer. High Dk/t
The amount of oxygen that can flow through the contact lens to enter the eye referred to as oxygen permeability. Dk/t is the unit of measurement. The oxygen permeability of the first versions of soft contact lenses was around 6–8 Dk/t.
A high oxygen permeability means that your cornea gets plenty of oxygen, which is essential for keeping your eyes safe. Hydrogel lenses have higher water content and lower oxygen permeability than silicone hydrogel lenses. Hydrogel lenses often have a higher oxygen permeability but a lower water content.
Hydrogel lenses transport oxygen into the lens using water. With a maximum Dk/t of about 40, a higher water content means a greater extent of oxygen permeability. Water does not transport oxygen in silicone-hydrogel lenses; instead, silicone molecule chains do. These lenses’ silicone molecules may have an oxygen permeability of more than 100 Dk/t.
Having said so, Bausch & Lomb’s Ultra One Day has the highest oxygen permeability among other daily contact lenses allowing it to give more oxygen needed by the eyes.
